Although the embossed leather pieces tend to be much more durable most of the other finishes we use such as oil tanned, veg tanned, chrome tanned, raw/natural or other hides with a softer temper/finish tend to scratch more easily. With regular use of a leather conditioner, such as Smith's or any other of good quality product you prefer, you can easily buff out these blemishes. Much like the hair off hides, hair on hides also experience variations or hair loss as natural part of material. These variations or loss of hair will occur in areas of the bag that incur more wear and tear. Just like the hair on and off hides, finishes such and nubuck (hide buffed for a velvety finish) or suede (hide buffed and brushed) need their own unique care process. Nubuck tends to be slightly more durable than suede but can expose stains more easily. We suggest purchasing a cleaning kit specific for nubuck. Please feel free to reach out for help in this process.
